How to manage school's waste

  • As we all know that garbage or waste is able to make our environment looks dirty and uncomfortable. The large-scale of waste also create unhealthy environment and unpleasant smell. There are two types of waste; they are organic and non-organic waste. Organic waste is a waste which is easily to be separated by bacteria and microbe, for example: remaining food, fruits, and vegetables. While non-organic waste is hard to be separated, for example: plastic, glass bottle, cardboard, used iron.
At this moment, I will discuss the wastes that are produced by the students of SMAK Kolese Santo Yusup Malang (Saint Joseph Catholic Senior High School), or many people in Malang called it as SMA Hua-Ind or KOSAYU. I am one of the students here in KOSAYU. SMAK Kolese Santo Yusup Malang consists of thousands students plus the teachers and staffs. The amount of waste, of course, is abundantly produced. A large amount of waste needs a better way to manage them, if it doesn’t those wastes will create a severe pollution at school’s environment.
There are some ways on how to manage waste at SMAK Kolose Santo Yusup Malang:
    1. Providing two types of dustbin which differentiate between organic and non-organic-garbage. Actually, providing two types of dustbin has been done for long time, but students are having less attention about it. Because the students’ lack of attention to the using of organic and non-organic dustbin, they often discard the wastes without paying any attention to the type of the waste, for example: they don’t dispose the organic waste in organic dustbin, but the dispose it in non-organic dustbin. That’s why, the awareness of students are really required.
    2. Non-organic garbage is coming from plastic bottles, used paper, and used can. The garbage will be useful if it is transformed to be creative things, such as flower from used paper or used can, bag from used plastic, etc. Besides, we can apply the used things for class accessory or for the decoration in the school events.
    3. However, to make all of that happened; it needs a big support from school, like adding some lesson that has relation with environment and creativity in its curriculum. By having deep understanding on how to take care our environment, it automatically will open the students’ mind on how to manage the waste so that it can be useful and help to preserve our environment. Like I said before that we can transform the used things to be something useful, such as: bag from used plastic or paper, instead of disposing them. If we have already made a many handcrafts from used things, we can sell those handcrafts in school event, like school’s performing arts or PELANGI BANGSAKU. Plus, we also need to create such an art competition which the students must create handcrafts that have economic value.  to become the useful things will increase. Besides, school needs to prepare one special room to keep and collect the student’s art works from used things. It is important to show to the public that the students of SMAK Kolese Santo Yusup Malang are not only great in academic subject, but they also have a great By doing this, the students’ interest in converting the waste creativity.

Greatest super hero dog

Greatest super hero dog? yes, at this part of my blog I will explain for you about dogs which use in films, comics, or science fiction which become a super hero dog..wow what amazing it!!

1. Dynomutt

Dynomutt may only be the robot sidekick of Hanna-Barbera's Blue Falcon, but the short lived TV show was named for the dog, not the multi-millionaire socialite/vigilante who fights crime in a costume. As a robot filled with gadgetry and expandable limbs, Dynomutt was spectacularly incompetent — but always helped to get the villain.

2. Hong Kong Phooey

Hong-Kong Phooey is the alter-ego of Penrod Pooch, a mild-mannered police station janitor. Whenever he hears of a crime he ducks into a filing cabinet, changes into his Hong Kong Phooey costume, hops in his "Phooeymobile" and races to stop the bad guys with his "Hong Kong Book of Kung Fu."

3. Lockjaw

Lockjaw looks like a bulldog. But not a whole lot of bulldogs are giant. And telepathic. And capable of teleportation. And a superhero. After an encounter with Mr. Fantastic, Lockjaw decides to search for the Infinity Gems (which were once part of the Infinity Gauntlet, for those keeping track at home). He leaves his cushy life as a royal pet, and gathers a team of animal superheroes (including a sabertooth tiger and Thorg, the Thor Frog).
After many adventures –- including stranding Thanos in an alternate dimension and being swallowed by a whale — Lockjaw and his team find all the Infinity Gems, and are able to give them to Mr. Fantastic. And Lockjaw becomes the leader of The Pet Avengers.

4. K-9

K-9, Doctor Who's robot companion not only shows up on the TARDIS, he was also on The Sarah Jane Adventures. He starred in his own series of books, sans The Doctor, and even has his own TV show in Australia. In his eponymous show, K-9 travels to 2050 where he, a mad scientists and some teenagers protect the world from alien invasions and battle a dystopian governmental agency, "The Department." Also, K-9 gets the ability to fly!

5. Krypto

Debuting just a few months before Ace the Bathound, Krypto the Superdog was Kal-El's pet on Krypton. Jor-El used him as a test subject for a proto-type rocket bassinet he would send to Earth with Kal-El inside. But Krypto got lost in space and did not return to Clark Kent's side until CK was Superboy. He's foiled bad guys alongside Superman, and joined both the Legion of Super-Pets and the Space Canine Patrol Agents.
He's got all of Superman's powers, human level intelligence and he's even got a disguise! As the Kent's dog Skip he has patches of his fur dyed brown that he burns off with his laser vision when he becomes Krypto.

6. Hyperdog

Sergeant Kemlo Caesar is a super intelligent Doberman in an exo-suit that lets him walk like a person and have hands. He's also one of Neopolis's finest, the police who work in a city totally populated by superheroes in Alan Moore's Top Ten. Not only does Caesar track down and arrest the Libra Serial Killer, he also convinces all the officers to stay, after they're forced to sign loyalty oaths. He holds his super-powered police force together, and he eventually makes Major!

Hey everyone, at this part of my blog I want tell you about one of a species dog, that is Siberian Husky. I will tell you about the description, temprament, height, weight, health problems, and Life Expectancy.

1. Desccription

Siberian Huskies are strong, compact, working sled dogs. The medium-sized head is in proportion to the body, with a muzzle that is equal in length to the skull, with a well-defined stop. The color of the nose depends upon the color of the dog's coat. It is black in gray, tan or black dogs, liver in copper dogs and flesh-colored in pure white dogs. The medium-sized, oval-shaped eyes are moderately spaced and come in blue, brown, amber or any combination thereof.
Eyes can be half blue and half brown , or dogs can have one blue eye and one brown eye. The erect ears are triangular in shape, and set high up on the head. The teeth meet in a scissors bite. The tail is carried over the back in a sickle curve, not curved to either side when the dog is excited. The large "snow shoe" feet have hair between the toes to help keep them warm and for gripping on ice. Dewclaws are sometimes removed. The medium-length, double coat is thick and can withstand temperatures as low as -58° to -76° F (-50° to -60° C).
Coat colors include all, from black to pure white, with or without markings on the head. The face mask and underbody are usually white, and the remaining coat any color. Examples of common colors are black and white, red and white, brown, gray and white, silver, wolf-gray, sable and white, red-orange with black tips, dark gray and white. Piebald is a very common coat pattern.

2. Temprament

Siberian Huskies are loving, gentle, playful, happy-go-lucky dogs that are fond of their families. Keen, docile, social, relaxed and rather casual, this is a high-energy dog, especially when young. Good with children and friendly with strangers, they are not watchdogs, for they bark little and love everyone.  Huskies are very intelligent and trainable, but they will only obey a command if they see the human is stronger minded than themselves. If the handler does not display leadership, they will not see the point in obeying. Training takes patience, consistency and an understanding of the Arctic dog character.
If you are not this dog’s 100% firm, confident, consistent pack leader, he will take advantage, becoming willful and mischievous. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. Huskies may be difficult to housebreak. This breed likes to howl and gets bored easily. Does not do well if left alone  for a long period of time without a great deal of exercise beforehand. A lonely Husky, or a Husky that does not get enough mental and physical exercise can be very destructive. Remember that the Husky is a sled dog in heart and soul.
It is good with other pets if raised with them from puppyhood. Huskies are thrifty eaters and need less food than you might expect. This breed likes to roam. Siberian Huskies can make wonderful companions for people who are aware of what to expect from these beautiful and intelligent animals and are willing to put the time and energy into them.

3. Height and Weight

Height: Males 21 - 23½ inches (53 - 60 cm) Females 20 - 22 inches (51 - 56 cm)
Weight: Males 45 - 60 pounds (20½ - 27kg) Females 35 - 50 pounds (16 - 22½ kg)

4. Health Problems

Prone to hip dysplasia, ectopy (displacement of the urethra), eye issues such as juvenile cataracts, PRA (primarily in male dogs), corneal dystrophy and crystalline corneal opacities. Breeders can get hip screenings from the OFA and eye screenings yearly from a canine ophthalmologist (AVCO) and register the exam through CERF and SHOR). Also prone to a skin issue known as zinc responsive dermatitis, which improves by giving zinc supplements.

5. Life Expectancy

About 12-15 years.

Hey friends.... at this part of my blog, I want to tell you about a story, that is about hachko's story. hachiko is a dog which have high loyalty with the master. I hope this story can touch your heart and you can learn about royalty from hachiko.

Hachiko was an Akita Inu that lived for twelve years in Japan. He was brought to Tokyo in 1924 by his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno. Hidesaburo was an agriculture professor at the University of Tokyo and commuted to work every day by train and Hachiko would accompany his master every day back and forth from the train station. Every day, the young Akita would wait patiently for his master's return on the train platform.
But on May 25, 1925, when Hachiko was eighteen months old, his master did not return. The dog waited like he did every day for the professor to arrive on the four o'clock train, not knowing that his master had suffered a stroke at work and died.
Soon after his master's death, Hachiko was given to the professor's relatives to be cared for, but the dog would constantly escape and return to his old home to wait for the professor. Eventually, Hachiko realized his master no longer lived there and return to the train platform. As the legend goes, Hachiko would wait at that platform every day for Professor Ueno to return but his master never came back.
Other commuters who had saw the relationship between master and dog were touched by the dog's show of devotion (who wouldn't be touched) and they started to bring treats and food to Hachiko as he waited for his master. This behavior went on for ten years with the dog appearing every night at four o'clock when the train was due.
Shortly after Hachiko's death, they erected a bronze statue at the train station in his honor. Eventually, the statue of Hachiko was declared a Japanese Natural Monument and the dog's legendary faithfulness became a symbol of loyalty to the state.
As a footnote, the Akita's image became so popular as a symbol of loyalty that his image was use in propaganda that would be used to spur that fanaticism lead to the Second Sino-Japanese War and eventually World War II.
Hachiko led a beautiful life and died on March 8, 1935. His remains were stuffed and mounted and are now on display at the National Science Museum of Japan in Ueno, Tokyo. Every year in April, there is a ceremony at Tokyo's Shibuta railroad station where hundreds of dog lovers show up to honor Hachiko's memory and legendary loyalty.

10 Dog Diseases Common to All Dog Breeds

There are 10 infectious diseases in dogs, which can inflict any dog breed, at any age. Understanding these dangerous dog diseases will allow you to protect your furry friend from infection. Each dog disease is described below, focusing on the manner in which the infectious disease is transmitted from dog to dog and across dog breeds, as well as the options open to dog owners for preventing infection in their dog
.
 1. GIARDIA
Giardia is a dog disease that causes diarrhea with abdominal pain and consequent weight loss and poor weight gain. This dog disease results from a water-born parasite, after whom the disease of Giardia is named. Giardia is ubiquitous in open water sources throughout North America, and your dog can become infected by simply drinking contaminated water, such as in a lake, pond, or stagnant pool. Monthly Heartworm prevention pills, which also prevent other intestinal parasites, will protect your dog against Giardia.

2. DISTEMPER
Distemper is a viral dog disease which is extremely contagious. Affecting the respiratory system as well as the nervous system, this dog disease causes fever and fatigue, coughing, vomiting and diarrhea, and finally seizures. And if untreated Distemper can lead to death. Distemper can be prevented with vaccinations at your local vet.

3. PARVO
Parvo (or Parvovirus) is one of the most contagious dog diseases around. Affecting the bowels, Parvo symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting so severe that they may lead to death. And though dogs of all ages may contract this disease, Parvo is most common, and most dangerous, in puppies. Typically Parvo is passed from one dog to another from contaminated feces. But this dog disease may also be carried on fur or paws, thereby contaminating the living space of the dog and any objects he comes in contact with. Vaccination can protect dogs from Parvo.
4. CORONAVIRUS

Coronavirus is another viral diarrhea that can affect dogs of all ages, though puppies are most at risk and will suffer the worst symptoms, from diarrhea to vomiting and weight loss, accompanied by constant drinking. At times, a dog may be infected with both Parvo and Coronavirus, in which case his symptoms will be more severe and may lead to death. Vaccination can protect dogs from Coronavirus.

  5. HEPATITIS
As with humans, Hepatitis dog disease affects the liver. This contagious dog disease includes symptoms such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain. Furthermore, Hepatitis may lead to kidney damage. Once more, however, vaccination can protect dogs from Hepatitis.
  6. LYME DISEASE
Lyme disease is dangerous bacterial disease which can cause irreversible damage to a dog's health. Symptoms of Lyme disease include arthritis and lameness, sudden limping indicative of pain, fatigue and lack of willingness to play or even walk, depression and loss of appetite. If left untreated, Lyme disease will damage the heart, kidney and even the brain. Vaccination can protect dogs from Lyme disease.

 7. RABIES
Once the most dreaded dog disease, Rabies is a caused by a virus, which attacks the brain. Rabies is a deadly disease that will be contracted through a bite from a rabid wild animal, such as skunks or raccoons, as well as bats. Unlike some dog disease, rabies can be passed to humans as well through a bite, or even just a scratch. Vaccination will protect dogs from Rabies and is mandatory for dogs throughout North America.

8. LEPTOSPIROSIS
Like Rabies, Leptospirosis is carried by wild animals, although this dog disease is caused by a bacteria. You dog can become infected by drinking contaminated water or by coming in contact with an hnfected animal. Symptoms of Leptospirosis include high fever and jaundice, accompanied by hemorrhaging which will manifest in bloodstained feces. Vaccination can protect dogs from Leptospirosis.

Most dog owners knew this dog disease by the name of the organism that causes it: the Bordetella virus. However, several other organisms can cause this highly infectious dog disease, whose full name is Infectious Tracheobronchitis (ITB). Symptoms of kennel cough include severe coughing spells, which may lead to vomiting and gagging. Nasal discharge and watery eyes are also possible. Though this vaccines is not automatically given at your local vet, if your dog is likely to interact with other dogs in the park, vaccinating him against kennel cough is a very good idea.

10. PARAINFLUENZA
Parainfluenza is another strain of Kennel cough. This respiratory infection in dogs is highly contagious and will lead to flu like symptoms. Once more, the name Kennel Cough may mislead dog owners into thinking that their dog is not at risk if he never stays at a kennel. However, Parainfluenza may be contracted by simply being around an infected dog, as in the park, the beach, or an off-leash dog park.

Understanding a Dog's Body Language

Understanding a Dog's Body Language

Hey friends, at this part I want tell you about dog’s body language. We always see many expressions from the dog’s body, like from dog’s tail. Every expressions have different message to us. You can read some dog’s expressions or their body language at this part. I hope it is can help you to understand your dog’s body language.
Dogs say lots of things with their tails and not all of them are nice. A dog who is wagging her tail might be happy, interested, or confident, but she also may be scared, confused, or ready for a fight. In this section, we'll tell you how to understand a dog's body language. If you learn this skill, it will make communicating with a dog much easier. And that, in turn, will make training a dog much easier.

When a dog whose tail is wagging wide and fast, the message is almost always, "Glad to see you!" This is a happy, excited dog. On the other hand, a dog holding her tail loosely but horizontally wants to know a bit more about you. She might not be ready to welcome you with a big lick, but she's not going to challenge you either. The same is true of a dog whose tail is wagging slowly. She's still deciding whether you are a friend or foe. Watch out, though, for a dog whose tail is bristling or is held high and stiff, wagging fast. This dog is agitated and probably  aggressive.

The position of a dog's tail tells a lot about her, too. A dog with her tail erect is confident and in control. The exact opposite is the dog with her tail tucked between her legs. Whether she's talking to you or to another dog, the message is the same: "I give up!" Just because a dog's tail is down doesn't mean she's frightened, though. A relaxed dog may keep her tail lowered, although not between her legs.
Dogs communicate with both ends of their bodies. A cock of the head or twitch of the ears indicates interest or alertness but sometimes fear. When a dog hears or sees something new or exciting, her ears will go up or forward. Because the canine sense of hearing is so sharp, your dog often knows about the approach of a person or car long before you do. That's what makes her such a great alarm system. Her ears are built in such a way that they can be pointed in different directions, allowing the dog to quickly figure out where a sound is coming from.

A dog's pack instinct makes her a good observer who pays close attention to everybody and everything around her. You might not realize it, but your dog watches and listens to you all the time and learns your patterns of behavior. Sometimes it seems as if she can read our mind, but her ability to predict our every move is really just good observation skills at work.
The dog with smiling pulling the corners of her mouth back to show the teeth. It is look with the snarl, a raised upper lip and bared teeth. A snarl is a definite threat gesture, but dogs probably smile for the same reason what we do.

Sometimes a dog uses her entire body to deliver her message. Rolling belly-up, exposing her neck and genitals, means "You're the boss!" An especially submissive dog may also urinate to express her deference to you or to another dog. The play bow is the classic canine invitation to fun and games: down on the front paws, rear end in the air, tail wagging. She may even paw the ground or bark in the attempt to lure you or another dog into play. The best response is to play bow back and then pull out her favorite toy or ball.
Body language is one thing. A dog's barks, yelps, growls, and other noises are yet another full of meaningful messages for dog owners. We explain what these messages mean in the next section.
